AI meeting notes in English, French, and Arabic: choose the right language
The language of the website and the language spoken in a meeting are different choices. You may use Decinote in French while recording an Arabic conversation. The meeting language guides transcription and the language of the new draft notes.
For a predictable result, select the main spoken language before recording. Automatic detection is useful when you are unsure, but short speech, noise, dialects, and frequent language switching can make detection or transcription less accurate.
A practical workflow
Choose the interface you find easiest
Use the language selector to choose English, French, or Arabic. Arabic uses a right-to-left layout. This changes navigation and controls; it does not translate previously saved meeting content.
Set the main spoken language for the meeting
In a new meeting, choose English, French, or Arabic to match the discussion. When the available automatic option is selected, Decinote uses the detected supported language for the new transcript and notes. If detection cannot establish a supported language, review the status and choose the language before retrying.
Let the recording finish processing
Save the recording and open it in the library. Automatic processing requires internet access and an eligible recording size. A queued or processing status means the draft is not ready yet. Keep the saved recording so you can verify the result rather than relying on the summary alone.
Review both the words and the document language
Check the transcript, summary, decisions, and actions. Pay particular attention to personal names, technical terms, numbers, and negations. The document language controls headings and text direction. Correcting that setting does not translate existing paragraphs: edit the content where necessary, and recheck the exported document.
A useful review checklist
- Check the main spoken language before starting; your browser or country does not prove the language of a meeting.
- Do not infer an action owner, deadline, or decision merely because it sounds plausible. Mark uncertain details for confirmation.
- For a mixed-language meeting, check important passages in every language. No automatic system can guarantee a perfect transcript of every accent or dialect.
Common questions
Does changing the website language translate all my older notes?
No. The interface language changes the app’s controls. A saved meeting keeps its content and document language. Changing document language adjusts headings and direction, but does not translate the existing transcript or notes.
Should I use automatic detection or choose a language myself?
Choose the language when you know it. Try automatic detection when you do not, then confirm the result before using the notes. A short test with the intended speakers and microphone is more useful than assuming a language or dialect will always be recognized correctly.
